Top 10 Bollywood Movie 2026
Following are the top 10 Bollywood Movies 2026 as per the power of the cast, box office impact and buzz of the movie created by the audience. For each one there is a short description of the plot, the actors and the reception.
1. Dhurandhar: The Revenge
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the spy action-thriller is helmed by Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and R. Madhavan. It will be the last of the Dhurandhar duology, following an undercover Indian intelligence agent infiltrating the criminal underworld in Karachi, who would be avenging the 26/11 attacks. It will be the final one in the Dhurandhar duology, which follows an undercover Indian intelligence agent who infiltrated the criminal underworld in Karachi and avenged the 26/11 attacks.

It went on to become a huge commercial phenomenon, grossing more than ₹1,800 crore globally and becoming the second biggest Indian movie of all time. It was an India record for the paid preview, and became the highest-grossing Hindi film opening in North America. The reception was mixed with some calling it Ranveer Singh’s performance, technical skill and soundtrack but the others were highlighting the excessive violence and alleged pro-nationalist propaganda. Like its predecessor, it was banned in all the GCC countries. The movie later premiered on JioHotstar and Netflix, such as an uncut international release.
2. Border 2
The war epic is directed by Anurag Singh and has Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty as its lead actors. It is a sequel to J.P. Dutta’s 1997 classic Border which was released on 23 January 2026 around Republic Day celebrating the 1971 Indo Pakistan war. The movie goes beyond the original’s Battle of Longewala to showcase Army, Air Force and Navy’s joint operations. The critics were largely positive, Taran Adarsh gave it ‘OUTSTANDING’ score of 4.5/5 while Bollywood Hungama hailed its writing, direction and action sequences.

Sunny Deol was dubbed the “beating heart” of the film. It took a fantastic Week 1 in India, grossing ₹224 crore, and has grossed more than ₹328 crore in its theatrical run so far, on a commercial scale. It was later released on Netflix and its popularity has already resulted in Border 3 being confirmed.
3. Bhooth Bangla
This is the next horror-comedy in the collaboration of Priyadarshan with Akshay Kumar and is actually a return of two of the same cast after 14 years of Khatta Meetha. The cast features Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jisshu Sengupta, Rajpal Yadav and Asrani. The story (it came out in 2026, April 17th) tells the tale of a man who inherits a palace and is preparing for his sister’s wedding there, only to find something creepy lurking in the building’s dark history.

The film comes out of an inspiration by the Vedas and Mahabharata and is a spiritual successor to Priyadarshan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) with several of its actors reuniting in the film. But the reviews were mostly scathing: NDTV graded it on 2/5, citing “old fashioned story line,” while The Indian Express rated it at 1.5/5 on “age-inconsistent casting and a cringe-worthy romantic track. The music direction by Pritam, which also has Arijit Singh’s ” Tu Hi Disda,” proved to be a highlight. The movie is now available on Netflix.
4. Cocktail 2
The romantic comedy-drama is helmed by new trio of Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna, and is a spiritual sequel of Cocktail (2012), with Homi Adajania at its helm. It was released on 19 June 2026, replacing the original’s lighthearted sentiment with a much more cynical perspective into modern love, with relationships being described as “expiry-dated. The movie, which hails from the musical legacy of Pritam, gets a facelift of “Tumhi Ho Bandhu” in all the three cities in which it is being shot: Sicily, Delhi and Gurugram.

The Indian Express liked it for its glitz but its dialogue-heavy story, while that of Scroll.in felt like it was too much bother to get the love triangle going. It has already made ₹128 crore on international front within 13 days. It also added to the media buzz about the A-rated certification of the film, as the former will make her first adult-rated movie and the latter her second, following Animal.
5. Welcome to the Jungle
The film, helmed by Ahmed Khan, is a sequel to Welcome (2007) and Welcome Back (2015). The cast is huge, consisting of Akshay Kumar, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Suniel Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Arshad Warsi and Paresh Rawal. The movie will be released on 26 June 2026 and will follow police officers Jay Bakshi and Sandhya as they hunt down a criminal named Raj Solanki only to find out that there are unforeseen personal connections.

The whole film takes place in a jungle setting, far removed from the franchise’s typical urban comedy setting, in which there is general slapstick chaos. It’s the 14th of the pair Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty on screen. Early reviews call it a mixed screenplay, with some scenes hitting home and others failing, but the size of the film and multi-starring format have kept it in the top 2026’s-watched comedies.

6. O’ Romeo
Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the film follows Shahid Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary and has some cameo appearances by Vikrant Massey, Disha Patani and Tamannaah Bhatia in the romantic action thriller. It was released on 13 February 2026 and based on Hussain Zaidi’s book “Mafia Queens of Mumbai”, which was set in 1995 Bombay with Ustara, a gangster with a razor as his weapon. The movie garnered mixed reactions. The Hindu praised Shahid Kapoor’s performance and criticized the meandering story, while The Hollywood Reporter India felt that it did not have any impact on the gangster-genre.

The film not only failed to do well at the box office due to its subpar commercials but also missed opportunities with Bhardwaj’s own film score, which is a strength for the film. The film’s technical aspects such as cinematography and Bhardwaj’s own score did their job well, but the film’s box-office performance was underwhelming, with an opening of ₹8.25 crore. A middle scene suggests that there might be a sequel.
7. Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai
His final film (probably) is a romantic comedy that reunites him with Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde with son Varun Dhawan, who are all directed by him. The title comes from a song from Dhawan’s own film, Biwi No. 1, which was released in 1999. The movie was promoted with a lot of nostalgia, with the “The David Dhawan Film Festival” screening of the movie, and a rickshaw-ride stunt by Varun Dhawan that went viral.

There was some pre-release hype created with its music, which is set to feature songs like “Chunnari Chunnari” which were recreated. It was received with mixed reviews on its release and yet it was a top grosser among the top 10 Hindi films of the year, which proves that Dhawan has an unbroken commercial charm in the mainstream comedy genre.
8. Pati Patni Aur Woh Do
Pati Patni Aur Woh is a spiritual continuation of 2019’s Pati Patni starring Kartik Aaryan that is being helmed by Mudassar Aziz with Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi and Rakul Preet Singh joining him. The show, which was originally scheduled to premiere in March on Holi, will now release on 15th May 2026, following a political storm over its wife, forest official Prajapati’s life goes awry.

There was mixed-to-positive feedback, with Hindustan Times rating it 3.5/5 for its sharp script and The Indian Express questioning its bias on the gender aspect due to its outdatedness. Bollywood Hungama dubbed him “a decent commercial entertainer. The three-woman cast was expanded and gave the franchise some new comedic intrigue.
9. Mardaani 3
This action thriller is also the third in the Mardaani trilogy that was helmed by Abhiraj Minawala and features Rani Mukerji as supercop Shivani Shivaji Roy, alongside Janki Bodiwala and Mallika Prasad as the first female villain in the franchise. The plot of the movie, which is scheduled for release on 30 January 2026, revolves around Shivani’s investigation into the mysterious disappearance of 93 young girls.

Both the film was well received with Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV giving a fine performance of his 30 year career and Bollywood Hungama giving a 3.5/5 rating for its intensity and technical perfection. It has a solid 60% on Rotten Tomatoes. It grossed at ₹73 crore before streaming on Netflix worldwide on 27 March 2026.
10. The Kerala Story 2
The Kerala Story director Kamakhya Narayan Singh has directed this drama with a fresh cast of actors, including Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia and Aishwarya Ojha, instead of Adah Sharma. The film, which was documented in a last minute Kerala High Court legal battle for certification, will go beyond the confines of Kerala and take its story to Rajasthan and other states, where three women are pushed into exploitative relationships due to marrying outside their religion.

It has been generally received with mixed reviews, with critics noting the acting but criticizing the messaging in the film. It was one of the box-office successes in 2026, even with the 72% drop in the opening day collections but recovered its budget in 10 days and started making money.
